Q.1. When will registration for BARC SO post start ?
A.1. Registration will start from 1st January, 2018 .
Q.2. When will examination for BARC SO post conduct ?
A.2. Examination will start from 28th March – 3rd April, 2018 .
Q.3. I have applied online to the BARC OCES/DGFS-2018 program. Should I send any documents now ?
A.3. If you have completed your registration and have received your Application Number, you need not send any documents to us now. However you can take a printout of your Application Form and keep it for your reference.
Q.4. Should I send the copies of certificates / documents regarding my qualification, caste, disability etc ?
A.4. No.
Q.5. In my Degree Course, only CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grade has been awarded in place of percentage of marks. Can I enter the grade in my application ?
A.5. Applicants, who have been awarded CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grades, should convert CGPA into percentage. For example, if CGPA is 7.12 on a 10 point scale, the percentage is 71.2.
Q.6. I have appeared for my final Semester / Year Examinations and the results are yet to be announced. Am I eligible to apply ?
A.6. Yes. However, applicants selected and offered admission to OCES 2018 would be required to submit the final results on or before 30th November 2018. Similarly the applicants selected in DGFS-2018 would be required to submit the final results as per the requirement of the Institute in which they have secured M.Tech/M.Chem.Engg. admission.
Q.7. I have submitted my application online, but have forgotten the Application Number and also did not take a print out of the application form. What do I do ?
A.7. You may check your e-mail. After the final submission, you would’ve received an email with your registration number and name.
Q.8. I am working in a Govt / Public Sector Company. Should I enclose an NOC from my employer at the time of applying for the Online Exam ?
A.8. Applicants presently employed in Central / State Govt departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies and called for interview would be required to submit “No Objection Certificate” at the time of Interview.
Q.9. Can I change the test centre / city I have chosen for my Online Exam later on ?
A.9. No. Please choose the three choices of test centre / city carefully during your online registration process.
Q.10. I have selected only GATE screening option. Can I change it ?
A.10. No. If you have already submitted the application form with only GATE option selected, you cannot change your option to Online Exam and appear for the test.
Q.11. I have selected only the Online Exam screening option. Can I change it to GATE option ?
A.11. No. if you have already submitted the application form with only Online Exam option selected, you cannot change your option to GATE.
Q.12. I have 59.99% marks in my qualifying examination. Am I eligible to apply ?
A.12. No.
Q.13. How will I know whether I have been shortlisted for the interview ?
A.13. If you are shortlisted for interview, intimation will be sent to your e-mail id. You can also log in to the website and check your status.
Q.14. Can I apply on the basis of my GATE-2017 score which is valid this year as indicated on my score card ?
A.14. Yes, you can apply on the basis of a GATE-2017 or GATE-2018 score. However, candidates applying on the basis of a GATE-2017 score must ensure that the GATE-2017 score is entered during the application process.
