Q.1. What is the education qualification for UGC NET December, 2024 ?
A.1. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC. The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer / Scheduled Caste(SC) / Scheduled Tribe(ST) / persons with disability(PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
Q.2. I have done Bachelor degree but not Master degree. Can I apply for UGC NET December, 2024 ?
A.2. No.
Explanation : Candidates who have completed Master degree in any stream can apply for UGC NET December, 2024. Bachelor degree in any stream can not apply for UGC NET December, 2024.
Q.3. I am now in final year of Master degree. Can I apply for UGC NET December, 2024 ?
A.3. Yes.
Explanation : It is clearly mentioned in the official notification under education qualification that “Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test.”
Q.3. I have completed my Graduation but waiting for my final Year result. Can I apply for UGC NET December, 2024 ?
A.3. Yes.
Explanation : Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test.
Q.4. I have done Master degree. Can I apply for UGC NET December, 2024 in any subject ?
A.4. No.
Explanation : Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post graduation only.
Q.5. I have done Bachelor degree in Engineering but not Master degree in Engineering. Can I apply for UGC NET December, 2024 ?
A.5. Yes.
Explanation : Engineering Graduates are required to have atleast Bachelor degree in Engineering.
Q.6. I have done Graduation in Information Technology. What should I choose as education qualification ?
A.6. Computer Science and Applications.
Explanation : The candidates, whose post graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects, may appear in a related subject.
Q.7. How can a candidate apply for UGC NET – December 2024, however he had already applied for UGC NET – December 2019 ?
A.7. In case a candidate had already applied for UGC NET – December 2019 and he/she wish to apply for this session (UGC NET – December 2024) also, use section – ‘Login Section’ at home page and act accordingly.
