Chemical Engineer
Mostly chemical engineers have to design, manufacture, construct, test, commission, and service the products. Designing will be a major part of chemical engineers job as design or process engineer. In manufacturing and production line also chemical engineers have a major role. The R&D division of BHEL is also renowned so research or laboratory related jobs like testing of prototypes or process development.
Mechanical Engineer
The work in BHEL primarily depends on the place of your posting. There are three different categories in which the place(s) of posting can be divided:
- Manufacturing Unit (nearly 86% employees) – The work profile may be production, technology, maintenance & services, commercial , planning (more management), stores etc.
- Office (nearly 6% employees) – Project management, system design, vendor management, contracting, marketing, overseas offices Liaoning etc.
- Sites (nearly 8% employees) – Erection of various products that BHEL manufactures, commissioning of these products, overhauling, upgradation and maintenance of already installed machines
Electrical Engineer
Mostly electrical engineers will be posted in maintenance in manufacturing units. Rarely i have seen them in purchase and production. In maintenance they will be looking after electrical maintenance of machines,instrumentation,cranes maintenance etc. Maintenance mainly deals with breakdown maintenance,Reconditioning & retrofitting, Predictive & Preventive maintenance, New machines erection and commissioning, substation maintenance,telephones and air-conditioning etc.
Electronics Engineer
Person will be engaged in co-ordination and supervision of Erection & Commissioning of PC and PLC based controllers, Radio Frequency Communication equipment’s, Bar Code Scanning and printing equipment’s, Control software’s, Warehouse Management Software’s etc. He will be responsible for smooth flow of work at site, communication with Headquarters at BHEL Corporate R&D and arrangement for testing of equipment etc. during E&C. After completion of E&C, he will be engaged in day to day maintenance and monitoring the performance of the equipment’s.
Civil Engineer
Design experience in the following structures/ Buildings of Coal Handling / Ash Handling Plant shall be given preference: – Transfer Points/Junction Houses/Crusher House/ Conveyor Galleries/Trestles, Wagon Tippler, ERH, Track Hopper, Stacker Re-claimer, Electrical Buildings, Dust Suppression pump House, Coal settling Pond etc.
