What is ESE?
ESE stands for Engineering Services Examination. It is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to various engineering services/posts in the government sector of India.
When will ESE 2024 be conducted?
The notification for ESE 2024 is expected to be released in September 2023, and the exam is expected to be conducted in January 2024.
What is the eligibility criteria for ESE 2024?
The eligibility criteria for ESE 2024 is as follows:
- Candidates must be citizens of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962.
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university.
- Candidates must be between 21 to 30 years of age on August 1, 2023. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to certain categories of candidates as per the government norms.
What is the selection process for ESE 2024?
The selection process for ESE 2024 consists of three stages:
- Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Stage 2: Main Examination (Conventional Type)
- Stage 3: Personality Test
What is the syllabus for ESE 2024?
The syllabus for ESE 2024 includes topics from various engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical, electrical, and electronics and telecommunications engineering. The detailed syllabus for each stage of the examination is provided in the official notification.
How can I apply for ESE 2024?

What is the application fee for ESE 2024?
The application fee for ESE 2024 is expected to be Rs. 200/- for general and OBC category candidates, while it is exempted for SC/ST/PWD and female candidates. The application fee can be paid online using a debit/credit card or through net banking.
