SSC JE Selection Procedure – SSC JE selection process consists of two written exams i.e., Paper – I & Paper – II. Candidate who will obtains marks equal or more than cut-off marks decided for Paper – I by SSC will be shortlisted for the Paper-II. Paper-I exam will be comprising of general intelligence & reasoning, general awareness, general engineering (civil & structural, electrical, mechanical).
Paper-II exam will be comprising of general engineering (civil & structural, electrical, mechanical) only.
SSE JE Paper-I exam is of objective type while Paper-II is of conventional type. SSE JE Paper-I will carry 200 marks while Paper-II will carry 300 marks.
Candidates will be shortlisted by staff selection commission(SSC) on the basis of their total marks in the Paper-I and Paper-II.
SSC JE selection process consists of three stages :
(1) Written examination
(2) Document verification
(3) Medical examination

# Note :
1. SSC JE examination will consists of written examination only (Paper – I & Paper – II). There would be no interview and final selection would be made on the basis of merit in the written examination only.
2. Negative Marking : There shall be penalty in online examination and marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer by 1/4th of the marks allotted for each question.
State – 2 : Document Verification
Candidates will have to produce their original documents & certificates during document verification.
State – 3 : Medical Examination
Candidates recommended for appointment will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the concern department to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties properly.
Resolution of Tie Cases
In cases where more than one candidate secure the equal aggregates marks, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another :
(1) Total marks in written examination.
(2) Marks in Paper-II.
(3) Marks in Paper-I.
(4) Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
(5) Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appear.
