Junior Engineer (JE) – Mechanical

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) JE Selection Procedure consists of four stages and the candidates who clear all these four stages will be eligible for final selection. RRB (Railway) JE selection process consists of these four stages :

(1) Stage I – CBT (Computer Based Test)
(2) Stage II – CBT (Computer Based Test)
(3) Document Verification
(4) Medical Examination

Paper Structure – CBT (Stage-I)
 (1)  Total Marks 100
 (2)  Total Number of Questions 100
 (3)  Time Allowed 90  Minutes = 1:30 Hours
 (4)  Medium of Examination English/Hindi (Bilingual)
 (5)  Negative Marking Yes (1/3rd)
 (6)  Type of Questions Objective type
Paper Pattern – CBT (Stage-I)
Subjects No. of Questions Marks for Each Section
Mathematics 30 30
General Intelligence & Reasoning 25 25
General Awareness 15 15
General Science 30 30
Total 100 100

Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: The category-wise minimum passing percentage is listed below :
(1) General : 40%
(2) OBC : 30%
(3) SC : 30%
(4) ST : 25%

These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

 (1)  Total Marks 150
 (2)  Total Number of Questions 150
 (3)  Time Allowed 120  Minutes = 2 Hours
 (4)  Medium of Examination English/Hindi (Bilingual)
 (5)  Negative Marking Yes (1/3rd)
 (6)  Type of Questions Objective type

Paper Pattern – CBT (Stage-II)

The candidates who are qualified in stage 1 is eligible for stage 2 computer-based test. The exam pattern for CBT Stage 2 is tabulated below :
