“Can I change branch for M. Tech?
How to change B. Tech. branch in M. Tech?
You all must have this kind of questions in your mind. Below article will solve this puzzle of yours. Just take a look.”
Can I Change My B Tech Branch in M Tech – There are many candidates who got bored of studying the branch which they opt for their graduation course in engineering. There are many candidate who think that if they change their branch in M.Tech. they will do better. So many candidates have asked me that can we change our branch in M. Tech. course ?
Most of the students from Computer science or Electronics wants to change their branch to Engineering Mathematics or Physics or Aeronautical engineering or any other branch.
A candidate can chance his/her engineering branch for M. Tech. course but not completely. There are some restriction to change branch in M. Tech. Your Master degree in engineering should be relevant to your Bachelor degree in engineering. You can’t change your stream entirely while stepping forward from B. Tech. to M. Tech. It must relevant with your B. Tech. course.
M. Tech. is nothing but a specialization course of your B. Tech. course. You may choose from verity of specializations related to your stream. There must be some relation in the branch you have studied during your B. Tech. course and you want to take for M. Tech. course.
M.Tech. is not stream wise, It is specialization wise. Like a candidate completed his/her B. tech. in Electrical engineering then he/she choose Power system engineering for M. Tech. course. Here Electrical engineering is a stream while Power system engineering is just a specialization of Electrical engineering.
As you move forward in your educational career you study specialization wise. Like a student in 10th standard study Maths, Science, History, Geography and all other subjects but in 12th standard he/she just choose a particular stream like Science & Maths. So in 12th standard he/she would only study Science & Maths not History & Geography. Now we move little more ahead, in College the same candidate who have passed Senior Secondary / 12th standard from Science & Maths will again choose a subject for B. Sc. like Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics. Similarly engineering courses are also classified in this way.
We have already explained about choosing courses in mater’s programme.

I did masters in physics ( Electronics and communication).I want to ask that in which all M.Tech specialization I’m eligible for ?
Also I don’t have maths at B.sc level. Am I eligible for PSU ?
