I did my BTech during 2010-2014. I have a backlog in the third semester which i am sure i will clear when the results are out in november.

2. If yes, what certificate should i upload as eligibility certificate (since i have not received provisional/degree certificate)

If you have done engineering then you have to upload completion certificate.
If you have not done your engineering then you have to upload certificate from principle.
Your GATE 2017 application from will get rejected if you try to upload internet copy.

I am a B.Tech final year student and an aspirant of GATE 2017. My 6th semester results are not yet published. So I uploaded my 5th semester mark list issued by the university for the application purpose. Will my application get rejected?, because they are asking for a final year mark list. I have other bank debit not SBI debit card with me tnad at that time payment is done is only by SBI. What i do? Net baking is not possible

I already applied for gate and my application got defected because of signature is invalid or not clear. I again uploaded sign in given link. After upload, i status is turned as ‘Your application is under process.’ . But, when viewing my application, old sign is there instead of new one. Is new sign uploaded or not?? How can I know that?? or any chance to re-upload my sign.. If there a chance means, please send me the link. As today is deadline, pls help me to rectify this..

Is there gate exam center are same in big city or small city?? Like in Gujarat state Gandhinagar is bigger city than Anand city than in Gandhinagar there are more center than anand city??

GATE exam is for getting admission into M Tech or M tech + P HD programme. So you have to choose B Tech as minimum qualification.
This is why there is no option for you in selection option.

Dear Sir/Madam,
i have completed my degree in this june,2015. My provisional certificate as well my degree certificates have not been issued yet from the college. When i asked before about the certificate to be enclosed, i was directed to upload my final sem result. I helped my friends with that idea too and we registered our applications uploading our final sem results. Everyone got accepted except mine which says defective certificate ,upload provisional certificate or degree certificate. i tried uploading two three times and it keeps displaying the same notification of defective certificate. I have no other option for now rather than the final sem result. please help. thanking you in advance.

I have applied for GATE 2016. I got a message saying that my signature uploaded was not correct. I have made the corrections accordingly. Two days later I have received the same mail again. This time I am unable to make any corrections. When I check my status it is saying that “You have taken action to rectify the defect. There are two main uses of qualifying GATE exam :
1. Getting job in PSUs
2. Getting admission for Higher education
For 1st you have to score high for 2nd if you just qualify you may get admission in a good college. If you want to do M tech and don’t want to waste one year for preparation for next year GATE. Also you will get scholarship if you get admission in any college using GATE score.

I have also tried on their helpline nos but nobody picks up .I have also tried sending emails .All my friends who filled the form after me got their forms accepted within 6-7 days.

Sir, I have applied application for gate 2016 ,i went through banking procedure and paid amount Rs 750/- through debit card and i received a notification on mobile that the prescribed amount has been debited from my account but it shows a technical error while loading in internet.After on again they are asking for bank payment.How could i know the details whether it applied or not.

Pay again. If you first payment is not received by GATE office then your second payment would received by them.
Don’t worry about first payment if that would not received by GATE 2016 office then that would be in your bank account with in few days and if the 1st payment along with second is received by GATE office then they will refund you one.

I applied for gate 2016 recently, and on behalf of that i got a reply mail after 2 days that my qualification certificate has an error.
I completed my graduation in 2012.
I attached my original degree certificate jpg file in the application form but i still got an error mail again yesterday regarding my certificate.

I’m final year student in MCA stream of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). There is a clause in GATE Exam Form for final year student i.e. Final year students have to upload authorization letter from College Principal/HOD as a proof of final year student. As IGNOU is an open university, how could I submit the authorization letter from College Principal/HOD? May I upload the last mark sheet as a proof of final year student?

What does year of qualifying degree mean? Please do make it clear.
1) Does it mean the year in which you completed your b.tech course at your college?
OR
2) Does it mean the year in which you pass the all the semester exams and standing backlogs?
I completed course at college in 2012. Is my year of qualifying degree in 2012? or the year in which I will clear my standing backlogs?
Am I a graduate? Because if you put NO in “have you graduated?” it says year should not be less than 2015 or more than 2016.
If I put YES then there is no problem.

While filling GATE 2016 application form you need to upload SC/ST/PWD certificates only, if you belong to any of these category. No other category candidates need to upload any category certification. Category certification demanded by GATE office while filling GATE 2016 application form is for fee calculation only.

Engineering provisional certificate will most probably entitled with the name “Provisional certificate”.
If the certificate which you have contain your basic personal detail, your educational institute detail, your course detail and your course completion detail in a single document then that would consider as provisional certificate. Sir the 2 nd option in certificate from principal is only for those who have completed the course or for those also who are in final year with backlog

2nd option is for those candidates who are in final year as well as have backlog from earlier semester/year.

Yes you can appear in GATE 2016 examination.
There would be no effect of attending GATE 2016 on your current status.
Both scores are valid its depends upon you which one you want to use.
If you want to use GATE 2016 score to get admission in any Institute only then your M Tech course will again start from 1st year because you are using GATE 2016 score now.

As per GATE 2016 office Information :
You can apply for any of the the two GATE papers (a) Electrical Engineering & (2) Computer Science.
What GATE 2016 office says :If a candidate is pursuing any higher degree or already obtained a degree higher than that mentioned in the above table, then the candidate can select the relevant minimum required qualifying degree while filling the application form.

But in case of PSUs, As you said you want to use this score for selecting in PSUs then :
For any PSU application through GATE there are two kind of restriction for a candidate.
First in which branch candidate have done B Tech degree.
Second in which GATE paper he/she appeared.
Point to be noted here is they need a candidate with both of these combine correctly.
When you will go through any notification of any PSU which recruit through GATE then you will find that they mention GATE paper for particular post as well as your B Tech degree for that particular post.

As far as I know during GATE online application form filling there would be no such option of submitting extra documents. If you find any you may submit it.
