IIT JAM FAQs 2025 – Here we will update all the frequently asked questions related to JAM 2024 examination.
These questions are based on very basic knowledge but sometimes candidates be confused in these questions.

Q.1. For how many JAM papers can I apply ?
A.1. A candidate can apply for either one or two out of the seven JAM test papers subject to the restriction imposed by the Test Schedule given in the JAM Information Brochure.
Q.2. Why should I choose three examination cities ?
A.2. Generally, you will be allotted a center in the examination city of your first choice. Only in case, where it becomes difficult to accommodate you in the examination city of your first choice, your other two choices will be considered.
Q.3. Do I have to send the printout of the application form ?
A.3. No.
Q.4. When and how will I know the status of my application?
A.4. You can check the status of your application by logging in to the JOAPS website.
Q.5. After completing the ONLINE application process and generating a pdf file, will I be able to change my application data ?
A.5. No.
Q.6. I have missed to take a printout of my ONLINE application at the end of my application process.How will i get access to it ?
A.6. You can login using your JOAPS Enrollment ID and JOAPS password and take a printout from the JOAPS website.
Q.7. I have not yet graduated the qualifying degree. Do I still need to fill the ‘Percentage of Marks/CGPA’ field ?
A.7. Yes, enter your latest Percentage of Marks/CGPA in the field.
Q.8. Can I bring a calculator during the examination?
A.8. No. A virtual calculator will be available on the Computer screens for calculations.
Q.9. How do I fill JAM 2024 Online Application Form for Admission (or Admission Form)?
A.9. Go to the JOAPS login available at JAM 2024 Information website JOAPS Login , and fill the form.
Q.10. How do I pay the JAM 2024 Admission Form fee?
A.10. You can make the Admission Form fee payment only through online. Payment can be made using credit/ debit/ net banking through the payment gateway. Extra charges, depending on the mode of payment, will be added to the admission fee during payment. The Application fee for admission is non-refundable.
Q.11. What should I upload in X Class certificate fields?
A.11. You must upload your Class X Certificate as a single pdf file within file size 4 MB.
Q.12. What should I upload in XII Class certificate fields?
A.12. You must upload your Class XII Mark-sheet as well as the Certificate as a single pdf file within file size 4 MB.
Q.13. Which Certificate should I upload for Nationality?
A.13. If you are a General Candidate (and not a foreigner), you have to upload any of the following Certificates for Nationality.
1. Birth Certificate
2. Aadhar Card
3. Voter ID
4. First page of Passport
5. School Transfer Certificate (TC) showing Nationality
6. Nationality Certificate issued by the authorized government agency.
Q.14. For each semester do I have to add separately the marks obtained for each paper?
A.14. Yes.
Q.15. What should I upload in the Qualifying Degree certificate field?
A.15. The documents must be uploaded year-wise only. If there are two semesters in a year, then the documents of the two semesters have to be uploaded together as a single pdf file not exceeding a size of 4 MB. In this section, you must upload Mark-sheets and Degree/Provisional Certificate (if applicable).
Q.16. Do I need to send any hard copy of the document ?
A.16. No, Please do not send any hard/ printed copy of the documents.
Q.17. I have only CGPA for Class XII mentioned in the mark-sheet. What should I enter in aggregate marks field?
A.17. You enter the CGPA in the aggregate marks field.
