PSU Percentage Limit – 2022 – Government owned corporations are termed as Public sector Undertakings (PSUs). Some of the famous PSUs are BSNL, MTNL, SAIL, NHAI, NTPC, BHEL, ONGC, HPCL, IOCL, BPCL. Nowadays many PSUs are using GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score for the selection of engineers. Every PSU has different selection procedure & different eligibility criteria. Still there are many PSUs as well as Govt Organizations which recruit without GATE score means they conduct their own examination in order to select engineers. Some of such famous PSUs / Govt organization are ISRO, BARC, BEL, CIL, DMRC, NIELIT, BSNL, UPSC, SSC, Indian Navy, Indian Railways.
PSU companies are owned by the union government of India, or one of the many state or territorial governments, or both. The company stock needs to be majority-owned by the government to be a PSUs. PSUs may be classified as Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), public sector banks (PSBs) or State Level Public Enterprises (SLPEs). As on 30 September 2015 there are 7 Maharatnas, 17 Navratnas and 73 Miniratnas. There are nearly 300 CPSEs in total.
